PreK On My Way

PreK On My Way comes with three websites made for educators to use with different audiences:

  1. For Teachers: Teacher Hub | https://digital.scholastic.com
  2. For Students: Little eReaders | https://littleereaders.prekonmyway.digital.scholastic.com/
  3. For Families: Family Exchange | https://prekonmywayfamily.scholastic.com/

1. SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS & URL ALLOWLIST

Make certain that your district meets our System Requirements and that you have added all the necessary URLs to your organization’s allowlist. You can find our system requirements and URL allow list here.

2. LITTLE EREADERS: CHOOSING YOUR ACCESS METHOD

For teachers to use the Little eReaders website with their students, you will need to help choose the correct access method.

Little eReaders is a Site-Authenticated subscription, which means the website uses the same method of access for all users within a given school or district. There can be multiple methods used for one-site and remote access. Access can be configured in a number of ways and you can choose one, two, or more methods depending on your implementation. Once your order has been placed, you'll receive an email from Scholastic asking you to choose your access method.

🔑 IP ADDRESS: by providing us with the IP address (or range) of your library, school, or district, anyone accessing these subscriptions with a matching IP address will be automatically signed into the subscription without the need for any additional credentials.

🔑 USERNAME & PASSWORD: libraries, schools, and districts can choose a username and password combination that all staff and students will use to access their subscription(s). Different combinations can be configured to indicate on-site access versus remote access.

🔑 PROXY AUTHENTICATION: if your library, school, or district has a proxy server set up (III, WAM, OpenAthens) we can use the IP address of the proxy server to provide access.

🔑 REFERRING PAGE: if your library, school, or district maintains a secured site, you can provide Scholastic the site's URL and we can add it as a configured referring page for your subscription. That way, when staff and students sign in to your secured site and click on their subscription link, they will be automatically signed in without any further need for credentials.

3. TEACHER HUB: ACCESS & 3RD PARTY INTEGRATIONS

For teachers to view digital educational resources for PreK On My Way, teachers will need to be added to the organization on Scholastic Digital Manager. Teachers can be rostered and authenticated into Scholastic through 3rd party integrations or manually through Scholastic itself in the Teacher tab on the Administrator dashboard.

When you add teacher emails to Scholastic Digital Manager, they will be sent an email inviting them to join your organization and browse all of the available subscriptions. Teachers are then able to activate subscriptions when they first sign into or launch Scholastic Digital Manager. For more information, see resources for Teachers here.

🔑 ROSTERING MANUALLY ON SCHOLASTIC: This option is teacher-directed. If your organization has chosen to roster manually on Scholastic, no further tech admin steps are required.

🔑 CLEVER: If your district already uses Clever, connecting with Scholastic only takes a few clicks! Check out this Help Article on Connecting with Clever. Once your subscription is ready, a Rostering Advisor will reach out to help you complete your set-up.

🔑 CLASSLINK: Connecting with ClassLink requires you to initiate a roster sync and set up Single Sign-on access for Scholastic. Your can accomplish this with guidance from a Scholastic Rostering Advisor. Once your subscription is ready, a Rostering Advisor will reach out to help you complete your set-up.

🔑 LTI (CANVAS, SCHOOLOGY, ETC.): Depending on your LTI-compatible LMS, the specific steps to add Scholastic to your system may be different. Once your subscription is ready, a Rostering Advisor will reach out to help complete your set-up.

🔑 GOOGLE CLASSROOM: This option is teacher-directed. If your teachers and students will be using Google Classroom to access Scholastic, there isn't anything you need to do at the administrator level. Teachers can connect their Google Classroom account with Scholastic by going to https://digital.scholastic.com and selecting Sign in with Google Classroom.

4. FAMILY EXCHANGE: ACCESS

No setup is needed here. Families and caregivers at home have their own special website to use with students to reinforce what's learned in school. Access to this website is granted with one password, and the password is the answer to the question: "What is the name of the blue squirrel in PreK On My Way Family?"

Educators and administrators will know this answer from their onboarding materials. Students will also be sent home with bracelets with the website's URL and password printed on the outside.
