Both students and teachers can be rostered and authenticated into Scholastic through 3rd party integrations or manually through Scholastic itself.
🔑 CLEVER: If your district already uses Clever, connecting with Scholastic only takes a few clicks! Check out this Help Article on Connecting with Clever. Once your subscription is ready, a Rostering Advisor will reach out to help you complete your set-up.
🔑 CLASSLINK: Connecting with ClassLink requires you to initiate a roster sync and set up Single Sign-on access for Scholastic. You can accomplish this with guidance from a Scholastic Rostering Advisor. Once your subscription is ready, a Rostering Advisor will reach out to help you complete your set-up.
🔑 LTI (CANVAS, SCHOOLOGY, ETC): Depending on your LTI-compatible LMS, the specific steps to add Scholastic to your system may be different. Once your subscription is ready, a Rostering Advisor will reach out to help complete your set-up.
🔑 GOOGLE CLASSROOM: This option is teacher-directed. If your teachers and students will be using Google Classroom to access Scholastic, there isn't anything you need to do at the administrator level. Teachers can import their own Google Classroom classes after connecting their Google Classroom account with Scholastic by going to https://digital.scholastic.com and selecting Sign in with Google Classroom.
🔑 ROSTERING MANUALLY WITH SCHOLASTIC: This option is teacher-directed. If your organization has chosen to roster manually on Scholastic, no further tech admin steps are required. For more information, please see our Help Center section on Adding & Editing Students in Scholastic Digital Manager
3. SCHOLASTIC F.I.R.S.T. ON MOBILE DEVICES
3. SCHOLASTIC F.I.R.S.T. ON MOBILE DEVICES
If your students are using Scholastic F.I.R.S.T. on a mobile device (tablets or phones), you will need to ensure that the app, called Ooka Island School Edition, is downloaded on all student devices. You can find the app by searching Ooka Island School Edition in the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.
Additionally, if your students are using Chromebooks, we also recommend downloading the Ooka Island School Edition app from the Google Play Store.
If your students are using Scholastic F.I.R.S.T. on a desktop computer, the program will run automatically within the browser.
